This 3.6-metre reception desk shows how MarbleFan develops a flowing marble form from 3D modelling through internal steel-frame coordination and factory assembly, while keeping the curved slab joints visually controlled.
Project Overview
The reception desk measures 360 cm long, 86 cm wide and 110 cm high. Its long horizontal body is shaped by continuous large-radius corners and a curved front that draws inward toward the base. A thin U-shaped upper counter, horizontal shadow line and recessed plinth help balance the visual weight of the stone.
Developing the Form in 3D
The complete form was reviewed in 3D before production. The model established the overall proportions, continuous corner geometry, upper counter and recessed base, providing a shared reference for the later structural and stonework stages.

Coordinating the Internal Steel Frame
The internal frame was developed from the desk sections. Steel members at different levels were coordinated and combined into one supporting structure that followed the modelled envelope.

Factory Assembly and Packing
At the factory, the reception desk was assembled so the overall relationship between the frame, curved body and stone components could be checked before it was packed as a complete unit for shipment.


Planning the Curved Marble Joints
To control cost, the inward-curving front corners were formed with joined large slabs. This approach can work on relatively regular double-curved surfaces when the selected marble has no strongly directional veining and a dark base colour. Under those conditions, the transitions between pieces read more naturally across the finished form.

What This Project Shows
A reception desk of this scale needs the visible form, internal support and marble joint strategy to be developed together. MarbleFan uses modelling, structural coordination and factory assembly to translate the design into a buildable stone object while preserving the intended horizontal proportion and curved silhouette.
